2024-07. TCR Grant Proposal Resolution

A Resolution of the Council of the Upper Mattaponi Tribe authorizing the submission of a grant proposal for funding through the Annual Awards Program to Support Tribal Climate Resilience ("TCR") for Federally Recognized Tribes.

At a duly called Regular Meeting of the Council held this 22 day of June, 2024, the following Resolution and Law were adopted.

WHEREAS, Pursuant to Article VII, Section 4(c) of the Constitution of the Upper Mattaponi Tribe, the Upper Mattaponi Tribe Council (the "Council") is vested with the authority to enact laws for the safety, health and welfare of the Upper Mattaponi Tribe (the "Tribe"), whose principal place of business is located at 13476 King William Road, King William, Virginia, 23086-3401; and

WHEREAS, The Council deems it appropriate to authorize the submission of a grant proposal to receive funding through the Annual Awards Program to Support Tribal Climate Resilience for Federally Recognized Tribes; and

WHEREAS, It is the purpose and intent of the Council through passage of this Resolution that a grant proposal be so submitted on behalf of the Tribe;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council hereby authorizes Chief W. Frank Adams to execute and submit any and all documents required to accomplish the purpose and intent of this Resolution and to conduct any and all necessary business as required to accomplish the purpose and intent of this Resolution.

The foregoing Resolution was duly voted upon by the Council on the 22 day of June, 2024, at a Regular Meeting with a vote of 5 in favor and 0 opposed, 0 abstaining, and 2 absent, pursuant to the authority vested in the Council by the Constitution of the Tribe.
